Healing Through Connection
Transitioning to civilian life often leaves veterans feeling grieved, alone, or without purpose. Having a network of fellow veterans who deeply understand can provide comfort and camaraderie when it's needed most.
Our support groups aim to enable veterans to know and assist each other. We focus on uplifting those dealing with invisible wounds like PTSD, MST, or TBI in a space where you need not explain what you're going through.
Weekly Meetings
The Camp V.O.W. support group meets every Thursday at 7 pm local time. We come together in a judgment-free setting to connect veterans from all backgrounds and eras of service.
Each week we focus our discussion on navigating a shared challenge, whether it be loss of identity upon leaving service, managing PTSD symptoms, or finding one's calling in civilian work. Sharing our experiences candidly yet compassionately with others who have walked this road allows for authentic connection and catharsis.
Meeting at Semper Fi Nutrition in Olathe, KS, we have coffee and snacks available before diving into that week's conversation topic. There is no obligation to talk - some weeks members simply listen and soak in the sense of not being alone.
Benefits of Attending
Finding camaraderie and understanding from fellow veterans can make all the difference when transitioning to civilian life. Share experiences, discover you aren't alone, and take steps forward beyond hardship.

No One Understands Like Those Who Have Been There
"Oftentimes veterans feel a loss of purpose and camaraderie when they leave the military. Having a network of fellow veterans who understand the military life, the challenges of transitioning to the civilian world, and dealing with illnesses and injuries can go a long way toward healing." That network is here.
